  • Tab. Crocin pain relief (Paracetamol 650mg; caffeine 50mg) – one tablet four times a day.

Common conditions to consider:

Common clinical presentation along with headache

Sinusitis Painful sinuses, blocked nasal passage, frequent headaches of fever
Cluster headache Sudden onset, usually unilateral, pain around eye, temple or face usually lasting for a few days or weeks
Migraine Unilateral headache associated with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light, sounds and smells. May be associated with pre-migraine aura
Hypertension Usually associated with palpitations, pulsatile sensation in head and often is bilateral
Malaria High grade fever with chills and positive peripheral smear test
Dengue High grade fever with chills and positive smear test
Transient ischaemic attacks Temporary slurred speech, facial droop or weakness
Stroke Prolonged slurred speech, facial droop or weakness
Insomnia Significantly disturbed sleep cycle with no other identifiable pathology
Endometriosis Though endometriosis is not a causative factor, it is often seen along with headache
Shingles Burning sharp tingling pain in the scalp with itching sensation, fever
Psoriasis Localised redness of skin, dry and flaky skin with silvery scales
Dehydration Reduced fluid intake and clinical symptoms of dehydration
Intracranial pathologies To be ruled out in cases with unusual presentation or prolonged duration
