The term ‘medicine(s)’ applies to the main pharmaceutical molecule applicable in the guidelines.
Whereas www.guidetreatments.com is involved in providing meaningful suggestions to end users about treating medical conditions, the website shall provide individual brand(s) which will be suitable for safe and effective treatment of patients.
The medicines are determined by up to date and applicable clinical evidence within the context of Indian healthcare system. The brand shall include a formulation in the best and most suitable form as deemed appropriate by the editorial team. The brand suggested shall be for all practical purposes within the context of the guidelines. The selection committee appointed by www.guidetreatments.com shall undertake due diligence and final decision in selecting a particular brand(s). The manufacturer/marketer bears all the legal responsibility including infringement matters related to the brand and shall indemnify the website and its owners of the same. www.guidetreatments.com shall not recommend any brands which do not possess the relevant licenses required to legally manufacture or distribute it across any jurisdiction under the Government of India.
Selection process: All brands are selected after considering five main criteria in no particular sequence:
- Is the particular medicine(s) really needed for safe and effective treatment of the medical condition?
- Does the brand include the relevant medicine as its main ingredient?
- Is the brand available across all or most Indian healthcare systems and has uniform pricing?
- Is the product priced at a reasonable level compared to its peers?
- Is the brand manufactured by a reputed entity with license to manufacture drugs in India?
- Does the brand have applicable credibility in the Indian medical landscape?
All interested parties are expected to submit expression of interest for access to these recommendations. Such contextual brand recommendations will be chargeable on annual basis. The charges will be decided by the selection committee and the manufacturer/marketer will be able to purchase access to multiple brands across multiple guidelines. All charges will be based on annual agreement which can be extended on mutual basis.
The continuation of the product/brand will be reviewed on a regular basis by the selection committee to ensure that it continuously satisfies the 5 criteria mentioned above. Should the product fail to satisfy the said criteria, the manufacturer/marketer shall be intimated. In those cases that the product cannot achieve the standards required, it will be withdrawn from the recommendations in the guidelines. In such a case the manufacturer/marketer shall be reimbursed on a pro-rata basis. Removal of one product does not automatically extend to other products from the same manufacturer and each product will be assessed and continued on individual basis.
Should the manufacturer/marketer transfer the ownership of the said product to another entity then, so far as the 5 selection criteria are met, the product shall be continued on the guidelines without any additional charge. In such a case the existing annual contract shall be paid in full. Should the manufacturer/marketer change the product name for marketing purposes then the same changes will be acceptable after written instructions from the manufacturer/marketer. In such a case, a one off, 15% rebranding charge will be applicable. The continuation of the new brand will once again be subjected to the 5 core selection measures.
